Children born outside of New Zealand must have at least 1 parent who is a New Zealand citizen in order to obtain citizenship. If you are applying for New Zealand citizenship you may need to provide supporting documents such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate. If your documents are not in English, you will need a certified translation of the documents to send with your application to the Citizenship Office.
